Halloween Pizza Party
Come. Eat. Drink. And Be Scary!
Bring your broomsticks and all those hungry little ghosts and goblins to the Picnic Shelter before you make the trick-or-treat rounds.
We’ll have pizza, spooky snacks, and drinks to kick off your night of Halloween mischief.
Stop by for a quick bite (vampires welcome), show off those costumes, and say hi to the spook-tacular Recreation Committee.
Fun starts at 5:30 pm.

Annual HOA Meeting & Potluck
The SCCE Annual HOA Meeting will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Doty Volunteer Fire Department.
Potluck starts at 6:00 pm
Meeting starts at 7:00 pm
In honor of the long-standing end-of-the-season tradition, SCCE will provide fried chicken, plates, silverware, and plenty of napkins.
Please bring your appetite and a dish to share– if your last name begins with:
A-E Salad or heavy hors d’oeuvres
F-J Dessert
K-S Main dish or heavy hors d’oeuvres
T-Z Side dish or heavy hors d’oeuvres
The first order of business will be to review and approve the Meeting Minutes from the 2023 Annual Meeting. You can find the DRAFT of the minutes taken at last year’s meeting here.
This is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbors potluck style and get an update on all the activities going on in the community at the annual homeowner’s meeting.
Bark & Splash
The pool will be closing for the season on Monday, September 2, 2024.
It’s always sad to see summer come to an end but our four-legged friends will get to send the summer out with a splash at the fourth annual bark and splash.
Weather permitting, the pool will be open for people until 5:00 p.m. At 5:00 pm it will be people out and pets in from 5:00 - 9:00 pm
Lost and found items will be available for pick up at the Picnic Shelter during the dog swim so if towels, toys, pool shoes, coverups, or jewelry have gone missing over the summer – please stop by and collect your belongings. Leftover items will be discarded at the end of the day
Bring your pup to the pool for a quick dip. This is their last (and only) chance to take a lap or two before the end-of-summer winterizing process begins.
Reminder: please help your pet remember his/her manners. We suggest limiting your pet’s pool time to 1 hour so that there is ample space and time for each pup to enjoy the water. We want this pool playtime to be fun for all of our furry friends.

Say Hello to Summer BBQ
Nothing confirms summer’s arrival like a BBQ at the pool!
Join us for the first official community picnic at the shelter. We’ll be cookin’ up some great summer favorites and will have plenty of treats on-hand for the festivities. In years past, we’ve invited the hard-working first responders from Doty Fire Department to grab a burger or a hot dog and join the fun.
This is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors, say hi to old friends, and say thanks to the brave men and women from Doty who keep our forest and community safe.
Pool Opening
Dust off those floaties and flip-flops and get ready for the pool!
Weather permitting, the SCCE pool will open Memorial Day weekend.
To kick the swim season off and ensure everyone can enjoy this fantastic community feature, please review the pool rules with all members of your household and any guests. We want everyone to be safe!

Spring Clean-Up
Grab your gloves, drills, paintbrushes, rakes, and buckets, and bring the whole gang to the commons area on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to help with the Annual SCCE Spring Clean-Up Day!
There are always plenty of projects–– and we’d love to see some new faces. Just an hour or two of your time will go a long way!
Crews are needed to help repair normal wear and tear and weather-damaged fences and buildings and to tidy up the grounds in general in anticipation of the summer season. This community effort keeps our development looking clean and fresh and is a great way to get to know your neighbors.
We meet early– 9:00 a.m.– at the picnic shelter for project assignments.
If you’d like to review the project list or discuss specifics in more detail, reach out to a board or committee member. They’ll make sure you get first dibs on the community beautification projects we have planned for this year.
We can’t wait to see you there… overhauls, work belts, and all!

Easter Egg Hunt
Hippity hoppity Easter’s on its way!
Calling all kids to join the fun at the annual Easter egg hunt at the commons on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The recreation committee will be busy stuffing hundreds of eggs and color-coding for big kids and little kids. They will have all kinds of goodies and treats for moms, dads, grandparents, friends, and family so bring the whole crew to the shelter. General mingling and catching up with your neighbors starts around 9:30 a.m. and the hunt is on at 10:00 a.m.
And don’t worry if there’s weather—the hunt has been had in the snow—the rec committee is prepared for just about anything!
There will be designated hunting grounds for little kids and big kids. Be sure to bring your own basket for treats and loot and be on the lookout for an extra special golden egg in each area.
It’s rumored that the big bunny himself could even make a surprise appearance so don’t forget your cameras.
