  • Get out & vote.

    SCCE residents are in Legislative District 33 and vote at the Doty Volunteer Fire Department (just down the hill off Nemo Road.)

    Even though we are outside of the city limits, we are within the city School District 51-4 (Area 6) and are allowed to vote on school-related issues. We are also in Commission District 1.

  • School's cool.

    Our neighborhood falls in one of the most desirable public school districts. SCCE kids who attend Rapid City Public Schools enroll at Pinedale Elementary, West Middle School, and Steven’s High School.

    Bus services are available for elementary and middle school students. The bus makes its rounds in the neighborhood a little after 7:00 am and drops kids home around 3:30 pm.

  • Talking trash.

    The Rapid City Solid Waste Division provides recycling locations in town for recycled materials (corrugated cardboard, newspaper, aluminum, copper, brass, steel and plastic) are accepted at the Materials Recycling Facility at the Rapid City Landfill.

    We are fortunate to share our community with all kinds of native forest animals. Most are just passing through– deer, turkey, and rabbits are frequent friendly visitors to our backyards, but there are the occasional sightings of more dangerous and even predatory animals like mountain lions and rattlesnakes.
