Spring 2021 Newsletter

Letter from the SCCE President, Carolyn Ellington

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for everyone for most of 2020 and into 2021. In 2020 we had to cancel all the usual community activities including the Easter Egg Hunt, the SCCE pool opening party, and the Halloween party. We were able to open the pool with restrictions, but the usual community social calendar looked a little bare.

Things are looking a little brighter for 2021! Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt was held on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

We will be opening the swimming pool on Memorial Day weekend (May 31, 2021), weather permitting. So, we are hopeful that 2021 will bring more fun and social gatherings to our community.

We are beginning the long-discussed and long overdue water meter project for the neighborhood. This will improve our water billing by providing exact and accurate water usage records for each household, will make it much easier to detect leakage in the system, and will allow much more accurate reporting of total water usage as required by the state.

As we work our way through the challenges and rewards of 2021, we will do so as a community. In the South Dakota tradition of helping each other, we will do what we can to make 2021 a stellar year for our neighborhood.

Thank you!
