SCCE Board of Directors Meeting – January 27, 2020
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Mike Wheeler. Board members present were Carolyn Ellington, Scott Wagner, Dana Coats, Marlowe McDowell and LuAnne Johnson
Board members absent – Howie Aubertin, Joe Hofmann
Staff absent – Kody Bybee, Mike Riker
Approval of Agenda and call for changes –

Motion to approve agenda by Scott, seconded by Dana. Motion carried.
Minutes from the November 18, 2019 meeting were reviewed. With one correction, motion to approve minutes by Carolyn and seconded by Marlowe. Motion carried.

Financials were presented and reviewed by the Board. Motion to approve financial reports by LuAnne and seconded by Scott. Motion passed.
New Business
Mike W. was contacted by resident, Curt Voight. Curt would be interested in mowing the commons area for $150.00 each time, as needed, would charge extra to bag lawn clippings. Carolyn will check on amount we paid Fleming Brothers, Lawn Service. We will vote for approval/non-approval at the February 2020 meeting.
Old Business
MIDCO – Continues to work on installation of services.
Red Deer Road Drainage Repair – The contract from Simon, dated September 27, 2019 for a total of $22,531.40 as signed by President, Mike Wheeler, on November 26, 2019. A copy of the contract will be filed with these minutes.
Swimming Pool related matters – will need to check with Jack Riker to see if he is still interested in working this summer (2020) at the pool.
Water System Report – Mike Riker
Mike R. is out of town for work. He did ask to verify that Morford Electric and Hawkins Chemical were paid. Yes, checks were signed tonight.
Recreation Committee – LuAnne Johnson
-The next scheduled event will be the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 10:00am.
-Still waiting for two recreation committee members to submit their Halloween expenses from October 2019.
Architect Committee – Dana Coats

Administrative Items - All Members
Facebook – Emily and Mike Wheeler have created and are managing a private South Canyon Country Estates Facebook page. Thank you!
Sanders Sanitation – dumpster is still in the commons area parking lot. LuAnne will call Sanders.
Sympathy Cards – LuAnne asked about purchasing and a sending sympathy cards to a current SCCE residents’ family, from the Board of Directors. If you hear of a resident passing, please let LuAnne know. All approved
Nextdoor Digest – received an invitation (via SCCE website) from SCCE resident, Brenda Young, to join the Nextdoor Digest. This site has news about neighborhood crime, safety, pets, items for sale, local events and much more. This site is free and private. After discussion, this information can be included in the Spring 2020 newsletter, with Brenda Young as a POC. LuAnne will send Brenda a response via email.
Commons & playground area – Marlowe reported there are some sharp broken pieces on the playground equipment. Mike W. asked about getting a new tennis net. Mike will check prices and report cost at the February 17, 2020 meeting.
SCCE Board minutes – for the record, there are no Board minutes from October & November 2018 and May 2019 meetings.
Winter/Spring 2020 Newsletter – will be working on creating the newsletter for distribution. LuAnne will get residents address/phone information from Kody. Will need messages from the President, Water, Recreation and Architect Committees, Swimming Pool update and bookkeeper. Please get this information to LuAnne.
The next SCCE Board of Directors meeting will be, on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 6:30pm
With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Scott and seconded by Dana. Motion passed.
