Meeting Minutes: Feb 17
SCCE Board of Directors Meeting – February 17, 2020
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President Mike Wheeler. Board members present were Carolyn Ellington, Joe Hofmann, Marlowe McDowell and LuAnne Johnson
Board members absent – Howie Aubertin, Scott Wagner, Dana Coats
Staff present - Mike Riker
Staff absent – Kody Bybee
Approval of Agenda and call for changes – Motion to approve agenda by Carolyn, seconded by Joe. Motion carried. Minutes from the January 27, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve minutes by Carolyn, seconded by Joe. Motion carried.
Financial Reports: Mike Wheeler
Financials for February 17, 2020 were not available. Kody hadn’t received the files back from Casey Peterson’s monthly reconciliation. Once Kody receives the financials, he will email them to Board Members.
NEW BUSINESS – Nothing to report
OLD BUSINESS
Swimming Pool related matters – Jack Riker (with Max Riker as backup) will be working the Swimming Pool
Maintenance Position for the Summer of 2020. Mike Riker indicated to look at hiring someone for the Summer of 2021. Thanks in advance to Jack & Max, we appreciate your dedication.
Lawn Mowing Service – Carolyn will compare costs for Flemming Brothers Lawn Care and share information at the March 16, 2020 meeting.
Water System Report – Mike Riker
- Nothing new to report. The chlorine pump is ok.
- We were not able to refurbish the old VFD on Well #1 (from the power spikes on November 17, 2019)Recreation Committee Report – LuAnne Johnson
- Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 11, 2020 starting at 10:00am
- The Kick-Off Summer BBQ recommended date is Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 11:00am – 1:00pm
ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS – ALL MEMBERS
Bookkeeper Debit Card for $500.00 – did Kody receive this for bookkeeper expenses yet? Need to check with Kody.
LuAnne recommended that the Spring Clean-up Day be hosted by the SCCE Board of Directors, instead of the
Recreation Committee. All approved. Spring Clean-up day will be Saturday, May 16, 2020 starting at 9:00am.
Sanders Sanitation picked up the dumpster from the Commons Area. LuAnne also received a call from Betzi at Sanders, saying we had overpaid and discussed applying that credit to our upcoming bill for emptying the dumpster full of residents’ garbage. Betzi will apply credit to our bill.
Mike Wheeler will check the price for a new tennis net.
We will compile a list of items that need to be completed for the pool opening, Memorial Day Weekend 2020. i.e. Signage, hooks in bathrooms, etc.
Board members discussed a pay increase for Mike Riker. After discussion, Joe made a motion to raise Mikes pay from $385.00 per month to $425.00 per month, starting February 1, 2020. Marlowe seconded. All approved.
Board members discussed (at the January 17, 2020 meeting) a pay increase for our bookkeeper. After discussion, Dana made a motion to give a 10% ($25.00) raise to our bookkeeper, Kody Bybee. This increase will start, February 1, 2020. Carolyn seconded. Motion passed. The Bookkeeper salary is now $275.00 per month.
The next SCCE Board of Directors meeting will be on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 6:30pm.
With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Joe and seconded by Marlowe. Motion passed.
