SCCE Board of Directors Meeting – April 26, 2021
The meeting was called to order at 6:32 pm by President Carolyn Ellington. Board members present are Dana Coats, John Santana, Howie Aubertin, Marlowe McDowell, Joe Hofmann and LuAnne Johnson
Board Members absent – Scott Wagner
Staff present – Mike Riker
Staff absent – Kelsey Wyres (out of town)
Approval of agenda and call for changes – Motion was made to approve the agenda by LuAnne, seconded by John. Motion carried.
Approval of SCCE Board minutes from the March 22, 2021 meeting. Motion was made by Marlowe and seconded by Dana. Motion carried.
Treasurer/Bookkeeper Report and Approval of Financials
Financial Reports: Were emailed to Board Members from Kelsey Wyres
* A/R Aging Summary was reviewed as of April 16, 2021
* Payroll Summary from January through December 2021
* Balance Sheet as April 16, 2021
* Profit & Loss for April 1 – 16, 2021
* Profit & Loss Previous Year Comparison July 1, 2020 through April 16, 2021
* Transaction List by Vendor for April 2021
A motion to approve the April 2021 financials/treasurer report was made by John and seconded by Marlowe. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
Conversation to hold swimming lessons and water aerobics at the pool from 8am-10am. Due to insurance liability, not able to hold swimming lessons. Carolyn will call resident or wait until presented to the Board.
Check in with Scott Wagner – LuAnne visited with Marie and Scott is still recovering and doing therapy.
Spring Cleanup – is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021 starting at 9am. John will bring post hole diggers; Dana will bring some concrete mix for the park benches. Dana will also contact TR Horton for striping the basketball and tennis court. Mike Riker will pick up paint for touchup picnic area and pump house. Need to make sure the bolts on the playground are tightened. Mike R. will have the bathrooms up and running. LuAnne will bring snacks & water.
Dog pet waste station – After discussion, Dana made a motion to purchase dog pet waste station, not to exceed $300.00. John seconded. Motion carried. Will install at the Spring Cleanup on May 15, 2021.
Residents living at 8605 (?) Kings Court – Kelsey does not have any information on this new resident. Mike Riker will visit with neighbor.
OLD BUSINESS:
By Laws and Covenants Committee – Dana
Have a meeting set up for Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at picnic shelter.Covenant Violation - Letter to Shed Owner – Carolyn will contact Mike Wheeler for update.
Weed Control/Lawn Care at Commons Area – The contract for summer 2021 is with Tru-Green. Will get bids from Warne Chemical for 2022.
Flemming Brothers Lawn Service – After discussion, we will continue to have Flemming Brothers provide lawn service for the 2021 season at $225.00 once a week, until notified by Dana.
Bookkeeper boxes of old files – Kelsey will keep the files and will purge when needed.
WATER SYSTEM REPORT - Mike Riker
Water System Reader – still waiting for the FCC to approve our application. The first batch (about 50) of meters has been ordered.
SWIMMING POOL UPDATE: Mike Riker
Mike hired Jackson Herman for the Swimming Pool Maintenance Position. Mike will get financial paperwork emailed to him. Wages will be $50.00/day, $25.00 opening, and $25.00 Closing. Hourly rate is $15.00/per hour.
Mike thought it was $20.00/hour, will check the records and see what the hourly rate was. Welcome, Jackson!
Pool and Spa has chemicals 20% off this month. Will be purchasing enough to get thru the Summer 2021 swimming season. Mike will also be ordering two more pumps; this will allow one for backup.
The SCCE Commons Area/Swimming Pool restrooms will be open by mid-May for resident’s use.
RECREATION COMMITTEE REPORT – LuAnne Johnson
Easter Egg Hunt 2021 – was a success. Will be submitting bills from LuAnne & Chenoa Jensen.
Spring Clean-up will be held on May 15, 2021 starting at 9:00AM. The SCCE Board of Directors hosts this community event.
John Santana would like to recognize our law enforcement, and first responders at our June 5, 2021 Summer Kick-off BBQ. John will contact the county sheriff’s office and Joe will contact Doty VFD.
The next SCCE Board of Directors meeting will be on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Doty VFD starting at 6:30pm.
With no further business, Joe made a motion to adjourn, Marlowe seconded. Motion carried.
