Covenants Compliance: Feb 2024

Covenant Compliance: We Heard You

In the summer of 2022, the Covenants Committee conducted a survey to get input and feedback from residents on the covenants. A top concern was compliance. As such, one of the goals for the Board this year is to remind residents of the current covenants and work with those who are out of compliance to correct the issues. A letter detailing the most common violations was recently sent to all residents asking homeowners to review the covenants, assess your property, and do your part to get into compliance as soon as possible. Top violations include:

  1. Recreational vehicles parked in front of homes

  2. Non-running/working vehicles on property

  3. Exterior work being done to homes or property without approval from the Architectural Committee

  4. Unkepmpt homes and lots

  5. Dogs not on leash or roaming free & chronic barking

If you have questions about the covenants or compliance, please reach out to a Board member. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! The SCCE covenants are designed to help keep property values high and to ensure the most pleasant environment for all residents.

HOA Autopay Option: Finally!

For many SCCE residents, writing the check for our monthly dues has been an inconvenient chore and the only check we have to write. But no more! Please join us in celebrating an online autopay option (hip hip hooray!) available immediately to all residents.

The sign-up process is easy. Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill out the ACH Debit Authorization Form & attach a voided check

  2. Place completed documents in the SCCE mailbox as you would for your regular monthly dues

  3. Bookkeeping will set up your account with Black Hills Federal Credit Union’s secure system (Note: you do not need to have a BHFCU account to participate)

  4. You will receive an invoice via email from bookkeeping at the beginning of the month detailing the amount owed which will be debited from your account.

  5. Your account will be charged on the 12th of each month

An auto-pay option has been one of the top requests for years and the Board is pleased to provide this secure option to help make bill paying a little easier!

Moving In or Out of the Neighborhood?

If you are moving out of the neighborhood, PLEASE contact SCCE Bookkeeping and provide your closing date so we can verify your final water and HOA bill.

Reach Out

It just takes a minute to call or email a board or committee member with your community-related thoughts, suggestions, or ideas.

In order for feedback to be representative of the whole community, we need you to reach out, get involved and stay in touch. We’re always looking for volunteers and input to help make SCCE even better!

And, if you are looking for an easy way to keep up on neighborhood news and connect with your neighbors, check out the SCCE Facebook group and the SCCE NextDoor.com neighborhood. Both platforms are free and private.
