Water Meter Replacement

To all residents,

Our water meter replacement project is underway! With overwhelming resident support at the last two Homeowner’s Annual Meetings, the Homeowner’s Association Board, along with the Water Committee, has approved the water meter replacement project.

We will be upgrading to a remote-read meter made by Kamstrup. This will allow us to more accurately track water usage community wide, identify water loss and/or leaks within the system, and eliminate the need for homeowners to read and report water usage every month (one less task on your to-do list!).

We will also be moving to a more automated bill pay system. You will receive a bill each month indicating the normal monthly fee of $70.00 plus any additional usage from the prior month.

What’s next?

All water meters within the development will need to be replaced. You will be contacted by Jeremy at 5th Generation plumbing to schedule your meter replacement. Please work with him to schedule your replacement as soon as possible. There are 138 homes in the development so your cooperation is appreciated and will allow us to be efficient with this long -awaited project.

Each homeowner will be responsible for covering the cost of the meter, which will be approximately $220.00. In the interest of moving this project along, the Homeowner’s Association will pay the plumber up-front and the cost for the meter will be added to your water bill. These new units come with a 10-year warranty; however, as in the past, you will be responsible for any maintenance or repairs for the new units going forward.

What is the Association doing?

The Homeowner’s Association will cover the initial cost of the meter, installation and the cost of reading and billing software. The water committee will work with the plumber and the meter supplier to accomplish this project over the next few months with the goal of having all meters replaced and online before the summer watering season begins.
